Honoring parents includes but is not limited to being generous to them whether they are in need or not, hearing and obeying them regarding matters that are good and proper, showing them the utmost respect, and addressing them politely and with good words.

In the Qur'an, Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى provides a similitude of the family in the dream of the Prophet Yusuf عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ. Why did Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى represent the parents of Yusuf as the sun and the moon, and his siblings as the stars, and what can we learn from this?
